The third generation debuted for 1971 with fuselage sheet metal and a split grille, and with hidden headlights as an option. Dodge merged the Coronet and Charger lines, so all two door B bodies were Chargers, and the Super Bee was a Charger for that one year. Sales of the R/T fell, and only 63 Hemi R/Ts were built, the last appearance of the Hemi in any production car at the time. The High Impact colors ended after the 1971 model year.
