The 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan was in the second year of the RT platform, marketed with the Chrysler Town and Country, the Ram C/V and the Volkswagen Routan, which VW of America had asked Chrysler Canada to stop producing for a month in early 2009 after 29,000 had been shipped. By 2009 the Chrysler minivans ranked as the 13th bestselling automotive nameplate worldwide, with over 12 million sold. The vans were built at Windsor Assembly in Ontario.
