Under the influence of Fiat, the 2010 model year Avenger sedan had few changes. New were front side and head curtain airbags as well as head impact protection in the front seats. The optional all wheel drive was discontinued, limiting the Avenger to only front wheel drive, and the 2.7 liter V6 was dropped, leaving two drivetrains: a 2.4 liter 173 horsepower four with a four speed automatic in the SXT, or a 3.5 liter V6 with AutoStick six speed on the R/T. The Avenger was discontinued in Australia in 2010 due to slow sales.
