The Volvo YCC, short for Your Concept Car, was a concept car that Volvo Cars presented at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show with the stated goal of meeting the needs of female drivers. Volvo assembled a design team made up entirely of women around October 2001, and the car was an exercise in ergonomics from a female driver's point of view. It was a three-door, four-seat coupe with two gull-wing doors, an upwards-opening hatchback and motorized keyless entry from a single key fob button. Inside, textile panels could be changed to vary colour and texture, and the headrests had indentations for ponytails. Its engine was a 215 bhp five-cylinder PZEV unit with an integrated starter-generator, and the car had no hood, since servicing the engine meant taking out the whole front end.
