Opel Monza (Monza A2, 1982 to 1986)

Automobiles

The Monza A2 was the facelifted second series of the Opel Monza, introduced in 1982 when the Monza, Rekord and Senator were all updated and named the A2, or E2 for the Rekord. It looked similar to the A1 with small changes to the front end: larger headlights, a more streamlined front, and drag resistance down by around ten percent, from 0.40 to 0.35. The chrome bumpers gave way to matt black or plastic parts, which gave the Monza the look of a sports car and a resemblance to the Opel Manta despite the size difference. The orange front indicators became clear glass. The A2 was only sold as an Opel, and the model ended in 1986.
