The Hudson Italia was a two-door compact coupe, part styling study and part limited-production car, built by Hudson in cooperation with Carrozzeria Touring of Milan and sold through American Motors for the 1954 and 1955 model years. Frank Spring drew it with input from Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni, and the body was formed over a steel tube frame on a Hudson Jet platform and running gear. It used the Twin H 202 cubic inch L-head six with higher compression and two carburettors, giving 114 horsepower through a three-speed manual gearbox with drum brakes. Only 26 were built after its January 1954 debut, and 21 have been accounted for, so it is a rare and prized Hudson.
