The Aston Martin Vanquish is a grand tourer that the British luxury maker Aston Martin introduced in 2001 as the successor to the Virage. The first generation, the V12 Vanquish, was designed by Ian Callum, unveiled at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show and produced from 2001 to 2007 as the flagship of the marque, evolving directly from the Project Vantage concept shown at the North American International Auto Show in January 1998. It had a carbon fibre and alloy structure and the company's most powerful V12, a naturally aspirated 60-degree 48-valve unit producing 343 kilowatts, driven through a six-speed automated manual transmission, with 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph, or 306 kilometres per hour; a specially modified example was driven by James Bond in the 2002 film Die Another Day. It came only as a coupé, the series was the last all-new model made at Newport Pagnell, and a V12 Vanquish S followed in 2004. A second generation on the VH platform, made at Gaydon, arrived in 2012 and was followed by a third generation announced in September 2024.
