Opel Frogster

Automobiles

The Opel Frogster is a concept car built by Opel in 2001 and premiered at the September 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show. Its party trick was changing shape: a built-in personal digital assistant mounted between the two front seats controlled most functions, and the car could transform into three body styles, an all-in-one roadster, a convertible and a pick-up. It also had an electrically powered convertible roof, new technology that no production car used yet. The name recalls the Laubfrosch, the green 1920s Opel nicknamed the Tree Frog, and the car was aimed mainly at younger buyers. Opel never planned to put it into production.
