The third generation Town and Country, on the NS platform, was introduced at the beginning of 1995 as a 1996 model and brought a driver side sliding door and rear seats mounted on deployable wheels, the Easy Out Roller Seats. To compete with smaller minivans such as the Oldsmobile Silhouette and the Mercury Villager, Chrysler added a short wheelbase version with the body of the Caravan and Voyager. A flagship Limited trim was introduced for 1999, and the short wheelbase SX was dropped for 2000. Its model years run from 1996 to 2000.
