The first Town and Country minivan was introduced in the spring of 1989 as an early 1990 model, the highest trim of the three Chrysler minivans and sold only in the long wheelbase body. It was a competitor for luxury themed minivans such as the Ford Aerostar Eddie Bauer and the coming Oldsmobile Silhouette, with leather seating, all the power equipment, front and rear air conditioning, an Infinity II sound system and a chrome waterfall grille styled like the Chrysler New Yorker. Its only model year in this form is 1990.
