For 1991 a 3.8 liter V6 became available as an option, producing the same 147 horsepower as the smaller V6 but with additional torque. The Fifth Avenue was distinguished from the Imperial by its interior, which shared its dashboard and door panels with the New Yorker Landau, with button tufted velour or Mark Cross leather seats. With an interior volume that classified it as full size, it was the first full size Chrysler since 1981, together with the Imperial.
