From 1962 onwards the hood styling of the Suburban was more conservative, with hoods that eliminated the large ports of the 1960 and 1961 models. The GMC models were still offered with the dual range Hydra Matic transmission in 1962, its last year, while the Chevrolet models used a three speed or four speed manual or the Powerglide automatic. The 2WD models had a torsion bar front suspension at this point.
