On December 13, 2012 the fully redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra were introduced in Detroit, and the first production Silverado was built on April 29, 2013. The 1500 went on sale in May 2013 as a 2014 model, and the new High Country trim, with a saddle brown leather interior, was Chevrolet's first entry into the luxury truck market since the 1955 to 1959 Task Force Cameo Carrier. The Silverado received the 2014 North American Truck of the Year award on January 14, 2014.
