For the 2010 model year the Malibu Hybrid was available only for fleet orders, and it was discontinued altogether the following year. Midway through the 2010 model year the GM badges were removed from the front doors. The 3.5 liter V6 was offered as an upgrade for special order fleet vehicles in place of the Ecotec, and was available only on LS and 2009 LT models. The BAS mild hybrid, which had improved fuel economy for the 2009 model, was now sold only to fleets.
