1971 Chevrolet Malibu

Automobiles

Malibus and all other Chevelles received a new grille surrounded by single headlamps for 1971, in place of the dual headlamps of previous years, and four round taillights like those of the Camaro and Corvette were located in the bumper. All engines were detuned that year to use lower octane unleaded gasoline under General Motors corporate policy, as a first step toward the catalytic converter equipped cars planned for 1975 and later.
