For the 1992 model year the third generation Blazer made its debut, as General Motors moved its full size SUVs to the GMT400 architecture, four years after its C/K debut. Chevrolet dropped the K5 prefix completely. In place of the long running half cab pickup, the Blazer was now a three door wagon. GMC renamed its counterpart the Yukon. Its model years run from 1992 to 1994. The third generation was a GMT400 based three door wagon, and the Blazer was dropped for the Tahoe in 1995.
