For 2009 the Impala received three new exterior colors, Victory Red, Silver Ice Metallic and Aqua Blue Metallic, and the brushed aluminum dash trim was no longer available. All models used the SS style spoiler that had been phased in late in the 2008 model year, and the SS was discontinued after 2009. The SS had been the only V8 front wheel drive Chevrolet, and it was discontinued after 2009. The SS was the top trim, with the 5.3 liter V8 engine.
