1992 Chevrolet Corvette

Automobiles

The C4 was held back by its 250 horsepower L98 engine until 1992, when the second generation small block, the 300 horsepower LT1, was introduced and improved its performance markedly. It is the engine change that most defines the 1992 model year within the generation. The ZR1 continued as the top Corvette in 1992, available only as a fastback coupe, and the change from the 250 horsepower L98 to the 300 horsepower LT1 gave the whole line a large lift in performance.
