The global second generation Colorado was revealed in March 2011 at the Bangkok International Motor Show, and in September 2011 General Motors Thailand opened the diesel engine manufacturing plant to make the Duramax engine used by the Colorado. The Holden Colorado went on sale in June 2012 in Australia and New Zealand, sourced from the Rayong factory in Thailand. The 2012 Colorado was the Rayong built global truck, which Holden sold in Australia from June 2012, the Chevrolet RG generation.
