The 1983 model year was marked by the fewest Caprice models to date, with no two door models produced, leaving only the four door sedan and the eight passenger station wagon, since the six passenger wagon also left the lineup. The 1983 Caprice Classic was selected for the Car and Driver Ten Best list, and 1983 also saw a Caprice clone from Canada, the Pontiac Parisienne. The Pontiac Parisienne bore Pontiac emblems and trim similar to the pre 1982 Bonneville, but was a Caprice in every other way.
