General Motors revived the Chevrolet Caprice nameplate in the Middle East and in Latin and South American markets on imported Holden Statesman and Caprice models built by its Australian subsidiary Holden. The WH series was the first to be engineered for both left and right hand drive. The Middle Eastern Caprice came out for 2000 in four versions, the base LS, mid range LTZ, sporty SS and, from 2002, the top Royale. Its model years run from 2000 to 2006.
