The Camaro line was greatly simplified for 1988, when the slow selling LT model was dropped along with the base Z28. The 2.77 rear axle became standard on the 350 TPI IROC-Z, and the G92 performance axle option had to be specified to get the 3.27 differential that had been included in 1987. The IROC-Z remained the performance Camaro once the base Z28 had been dropped, and a raised rear spoiler became available on base coupes.
