1987 Chevrolet Camaro

Automobiles

A Camaro convertible was offered as a regular production option in 1987 for the first time since 1969, and the convertibles were treated as the 20th anniversary editions, with a dash badge. Some T-top cars were converted to convertibles by ASC after delivery. The 350 TPI IROC-Z cars used a Borg-Warner rear end made for Holden of Australia. The G92 and L98 cars got the heavy duty Borg-Warner 7.75 inch four pinion rear end produced for GM's Holden of Australia, and all 350 TPI L98 IROC-Zs required 3.27 gears, J65 rear disc brakes and an oil cooler.
