For 1985 Chevrolet introduced the IROC-Z, named for the International Race of Champions, and all Camaros got refreshed noses, with a deeper valance and front spoiler for the Z28 and IROC-Z. The IROC-Z was on Car and Driver's Ten Best list for 1985, and 2,497 L69 IROC-Z cars were built. A total of 205 IROC-Zs with the LB9 305 and the G92 Performance Axle Ratio option were made in 1985, and a California only IROC-Z was also built, an idea that came from Chevrolet's California Marketing Group.
