Like the later 1961 fourth generation Lincoln Continental, the Eldorado Brougham had rear hinged rear doors, but unlike the Continental it was a true pillarless hardtop. It cost 13,074 dollars, twice the price of a conventional 1957 Eldorado and more than the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, Facel Vega Excellence or Continental Mark II, and sales were 400 in 1957. An all transistor signal seeking car radio by Delco was first available on it.
