In 1970 a facelift included a grille with 13 vertical blades set against a delicately cross hatched rectangular opening. The 1970 model year was both the last year that De Ville offered a convertible body style and for pillared sedans until hardtops were permanently dropped in 1977. In 1969 the De Ville had been restyled in the Eldorado image, and the 472 cubic inch V8 continued in the 1970 cars. The 1970 car ended the third generation.
