The 1980 Cadillac Coupe and Sedan de Ville received a major facelift, with a more aerodynamic nose, nearly vertical rear window, new trunk lid and higher, straighter rear fenders capped by wider chrome taillamp bezels. The 7 liter V8 was discontinued in favor of a new 368 cubic inch V8, and late in the 1980 model year V6 power from Buick was offered as a credit option, the first Cadillac with fewer than 8 cylinders since the 1914 Model 30.
