General Motors presented the 2008 CTS at the North American International Auto Show in January 2007. The 2008 and 2009 base model featured a 3.6 liter LY7 V6 with 263 horsepower carried over from the previous generation, and a coupe and a sport wagon joined the sedan. In 2008 General Motors anticipated relaunching Cadillac in Australia and New Zealand with it, but dropped the launch after the 2008 financial crisis. Its model years run from 2008 to 2013.
