By 2000 the Z8 was on sale in Europe and the United States, where it cost 128,000 dollars. It had an all aluminium chassis and body, a V8 engine located behind the front axle to give a 50/50 weight distribution, and a 0 to 100 km/h time claimed at 4.7 seconds. Every car was shipped with a colour matched metal hardtop with a rear defroster. The Z8 was sold at a high price and made in small numbers, in a hand finished process in Munich.
