The third generation X6 was unveiled on 3 July 2019 and sports more aggressive bodywork, including a more angular grille which can be illuminated as an option for the first time on a BMW. Sales began in November 2019. The X6 M F96 and X6 M Competition performance models were revealed on 1 October 2019, and at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show BMW showed a G06 in Vantablack paint. It is built at Greer in South Carolina.
