In 2025 the second generation X2 and the electric iX2 were in their first full model year after the early 2024 start of sales. The X2 remained BMW's sportier alternative to the X1 and was assembled at Regensburg in Germany. The generation was revealed in October 2023 with an illuminated grille, large wheels and four round tailpipes on the M35i. In the second full year the model was available as the combustion X2 and the electric iX2.
