On 21 August 2026 BMW launched the X1 Long Wheelbase, the sDrive18i M Sport, in India priced at 49.90 lakh rupees, the long wheelbase version of the third generation X1 being sold alongside the standard car. The U11 and U12 range was in its fifth model year, continuing as the current generation of the BMW subcompact luxury crossover. The U11 and U12 shared their platform with the 2 Series Active Tourer and the Mini Countryman.
