The X1 was launched in India on 28 January 2023, locally manufactured at the Chennai factory of BMW, and in Thailand on 28 February with the sole sDrive18i, with the xDrive30e added in May. In June 2023 the M35i xDrive was announced, with United States deliveries beginning in October and the rest of the world in November. The electric iX1 was launched in India on 28 September 2023. It was sold in Europe, North America, India, Thailand and many other markets that year.
