A six speed manual gearbox was offered in North America from 2007 on the M6. Very few buyers chose it: only 701 cars were produced with a manual gearbox, of which 323 were coupes and 378 were convertibles. Most M6 cars therefore kept the automatic transmission, which was the standard choice. The 2007 car is the third model year of the second generation of the M6, which came to the market in 2005. The manual cars were a tiny share of all E63 and E64 production.
