In May 2024 BMW announced an all new M4 CS, which features a more powerful version of the S58 six cylinder twin turbo engine that produces 405 kW or 543 hp, a 15 kW increase over the normal M4 Competition. BMW also said that the M4 CS weighs 35 kg less than an M4 Competition xDrive. The M4 of 2024 was the second generation G82 coupe. The M4 CS was a lighter, more powerful car than the Competition, from the motorsport division of BMW.
