The 2026 model year iX was the facelifted car released in January 2025, a battery electric mid size luxury crossover with improved range and power. It was built on a bespoke electric drivetrain architecture and an aluminium spaceframe with a carbon fibre reinforced plastic side frame and roof frame, which let BMW produce it alongside combustion cars at the Dingolfing plant. The iX was sold in Europe, North America, China and other markets.
