1974 BMW E9

Automobiles

The last version of the E9 to be introduced was the 2.5 CS in 1974, a response to the 1973 oil crisis, so that the buyer could choose the smaller, more economical engine. In the United States the 1974 models had protruding 5 mile per hour bumpers. The E9 of 1974 was also sold as the 3.0 CS and CSi, built by Karmann for BMW. The 2.5 CS had a smaller engine than the others in the range. The 2.5 CS was a smaller engined coupe.
