The E65 facelift, called LCI, began production in March 2005, and in 2005 dedicated buttons to change radio stations or skip tracks were added to the iDrive controller, with a brighter screen for the widescreen option. In late 2005, night vision became available on the 7 Series, an infrared camera that showed pedestrians and animals on the dashboard display. The cars made after March 2005 were the facelifted LCI models.
