On 11 May 2000 BMW presented a fleet of fifteen 750hL hydrogen powered cars in Berlin, which were used as shuttles during Expo 2000 in Hanover. The armoured Protection Line vehicles, based on the 740iL and 750iL, were built from 2000, and the L7 models of 2000 and 2001 had an optional privacy window glass partition to separate the driver from the rear passengers.
