The G30 continued in 2022 as the facelifted seventh generation 5 Series, with the same mechanics and engines as before, in saloon and Touring form from Dingolfing and with long wheelbase cars from Shenyang. Production of the G30 had begun in November 2016. The successor G60 was in testing, with prototypes shown in Arjeplog in February 2022. The 5 Series Touring G31 continued alongside the saloon in the Dingolfing line up.
