The facelifted G30 went on sale as a 2021 model, with the Sport Line discontinued during the facelift in June 2020 for the 2021 model year. The 545e xDrive plug in hybrid became part of the range. In November 2021 the M550i xDrive and 540i xDrive had an issue where traction control interfered with acceleration, which BMW fixed by over the air updates. The Sport Line trim had been discontinued during the facelift, leaving Luxury Line and M Sport.
