The E60 M5 was released in 2005 and powered by the S85 V10 engine, producing the first V10 M5, offered in saloon and wagon bodies. Bluetooth became standard on all 2005 and newer models, and the E60 was now in its second full year, a Europe wide success. The 5 millionth 5 Series would be built in 2008. The model had been on sale since the summer of 2003, and the M5 was the first of its kind with a V10 engine, built on the same Dingolfing lines.
