The F32 generation of the 4 Series ended in 2020, when BMW announced on 26 May that the G22 would be unveiled online in June 2020, and launched the G22 for the 2021 model year. The first generation had run for about seven years and had added the Gran Coupe liftback body to the coupe and convertible of the original 4 Series range. The introduction of the G22 meant the end of the F32 coupe and F33 convertible after the generation lasted from 2013 to 2020.
