The G20 was unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show on 2 October 2018 and has been in production since mid October. A final design proposal by Alexey Kezha was chosen by BMW management at the end of November 2015, from three candidates. Sales began in 2019, and the car is internally called the G20 for the sedan and G21 for the Touring. The M340i and the 330e were two of the first models in the range.
