The F22 and F23 ended production in 2021, after the second generation G42 2 Series coupe was revealed in July 2021 as their successor. The F22 had been in production from November 2013 and the F23 from 2014. Unlike the first generation, the second generation was offered only as a coupe, and the convertible was not continued. The F23 convertible ended with the generation and was not carried over to the new range, which had a coupe only.
