The 1.5 liter engine was added to the Australian range of the Mazda 121 in 1994 and was used until 1996. Australian models came with the 1.3 liter engine paired with a standard five speed manual or a four speed automatic. The Revue of 1994 was in its fifth year in Japan, the subcompact Autozam saloon with a tall and rounded look. Mazda sold the Revue in many export markets as the Mazda 121. The tall Revue had a very uncompetitive drag coefficient of Cd=0.40.
