The AZ-3 of 1994 was in its fourth year, a hatchback coupe of Autozam on the E platform, with a 1.5 liter inline four or a 1.8 liter V6, sold with the Eunos Presso as a sister car. It shared its chassis with the BG Familia, which had been winning with four wheel drive turbo, so the 1.5 liter B5 engine model could use the drivetrain and exhaust parts of the Familia, and the range of modifications was wide. The AZ-3 was sold abroad as the Mazda MX-3, as the MX-3 Precidia in Canada and as the Eunos 30X in Australia.
