In September 1993 the 1.8 liter V6 engine, which had been set only on the sister car Eunos Presso, was added to the AZ-3, in the grades GT-A and GT-X. The AZ-3 of 1993 was in its third year, a hatchback coupe of Autozam with an inline four of 1.5 liters or a V6, with a rear window curved in three dimensions and a look that recalled the RX-7 of another channel. The AZ-3 used the E platform of Mazda. The AZ in the name AZ-3 stood for Autozam and the 3 for the size of the car.
