1920 Austin Twenty

Automobiles

The car proved too large for the home market, and only about 3,000 Twenties had been sold by July 1920. Herbert Austin had owned an American Hudson Super Six during the war and admired it, and its overall layout formed the basis of the design of the new one model car. At the beginning of June 1920 The Times praised Austin's enterprise in launching a car made on American lines, while finding the finish poor.
