In 1960 BMC added the two door estate version of the Mini, sold as the Austin Mini Countryman and the Morris Mini Traveller, on a slightly longer chassis of 84 inches against 80.25 inches for the saloon. Both estate models had double barn style rear doors and a decorative ash wood trim on the rear body in the style of a pre war shooting brake. The estate versions were an early sign of how many variants the Mini would spawn.
